Call for applied theatre students / PAC Local

Join us for an exciting programme of international artistic and social reflection in Budapest, where we will use theatre to think about the past, politics, family memory – and the present.

Who is it for?
Students studying applied theatre methods (theatre education, community theatre, drama pedagogy) who want to create and learn together with other international students (Mozarteum Salzburg).
The four-day programme in English is based on active participation. The project is entirely self-funded and without any funding, so we would be happy if the Budapest participants could host an international participant for the duration of the programme.

Organizers:
Örkény Theatre / InSite Drama and the Mozarteum Salzburg Applied Theatre Training.
The programme is a new resource-based initiative of the PAC (Performing Arts in Contexts) network of higher education institutions delivering applied theatre training.

Venue:
Budapest, ÖrkényKÖZtér and other venues

Date:
Online Kick-off: mid-October 2025
Attendance programme: 23 October 2025 from 14:00 to 13:00 on 26 October 2025

Why apply?

  • You can be part of a special international collaboration
  • You can think about real social issues in artistic forms
  • Develop your applied theatre skills and sensitivity
  • Get to know new people and inspiring creative processes
  • Get to know the latest production of the Örkény Theatre, giving you a glimpse into the final phase of the creative process
