The Package at Beijing

The Jian Xue International Education and Culture Institute celebrated the 60th anniversary of TIE with a two-day conference in Beijing. As part of the event, our performance The Package, created in collaboration with the Kerekasztal Theatre-in-Education Centre, was also presented in English with interpretation. Exceptionally, the director and designer of the production, Ceri Townsend, took over the role of “Uncle Laci” from Arnold Nyári.

The conference’s 140 participants attended three TIE performances, watched an open rehearsal, and listened to lectures by both international and Chinese experts. The history of TIE was presented through an exhibition, which also featured the work of several Hungarian companies. The event concluded with the evaluation and a concert by members of Drama Rainbow’s student theatre group called Facing the Gap .
