InSite Drama is participating in an Erasmus+ project led by Birmingham City University that aims to help teachers working with 11-15 year old young people to create democratic spaces in their classrooms. Besides BCU our partners in the project are the Heartlands Academy from Birmingham, Ellinogermaniki Agogi school from Athens, the MimesisLab from the University of Rome and KeKi, the Children’s Right Knowledge Centre from Ghent.

We will be performing The Edge seven times in this season. The dates of the performances are the following:

2018. January 31. and February 1.

2018. February 26-27.

2018. April 23-24-25.

A video about The Giant’s Embrace, a theatre in education program for kindergarten created in collaboration with Round Table TIE, has just come out. We only have a Hungarian language version as yet.

As the result of a complex and exciting process the Handbook of Theatre Education and Theatre Pedagogy has been published. We thank all involved in the process and the 130 people who took part at the launch.

The Giant’s Embrace, created by InSite in co-production with Round Table Theatre in Education Company, won an award at the 9th Children and Youth Theatre Festival in Budapest. The reasoning behind the award given by the jury is especially precious to us:

“For the power of theatre in The Giant’s Embrace and the intimacy of the acting, for the philosophical richness of the story and its lovable production, with the hope that the story of the two binmen slowly reaches all the kindergartens in Hungary.”
